The business collaboration app
that makes teamwork simple

In October 2012, while contracting for Letzgro, I was the first hired UI Designer for Intellinote, later aquired by BroadSoft Team-One, an all-in-one team messaging and business collaboration app with built-in integrated calling and live meetings.

About BroadSoft Team-One

Team-One is an all-in-one team messaging and business collaboration app with built-in integrated calling and live meetings. Available on iOS, Android, web and desktop, Team-One is an integral part of the BroadSoft Business suite of the applications.

BroadSoft Team-One is a solution that has harnessed the zeitgeist and given users the ability to share information and connect with one another more efficiently in way that echoes how they would connect with their friends or relatives in a non-work environment.

Tasks and Problems

January, 2013 – Evaluation and market research of already existing solutions; UI/UX development of user-validated designs for engineers to develop; working closely with the engineering team in Washington, DC, to improve ease-of-use and overall experience.

Adobe Photoshop, Adobe iIllustrator, Jira, HipChat.

I started working on the problem evaluating and discussing the first mockups and drafts provided by the founders, Tony Lopresti and Gene Sohn. The main objectives were to to provide one collboration platform (iOS app and web desktop app) for users to enhance the productivity and efficiency of their teams that offers Task Management, File Sharing, Real-Time Messaging in the first iteration and Video and Audio Conferencing, Screen Sharing, etc in the upcoming ones.

In a nutshell, the platform had to help improve the collaborative working environment of their business eliminating an avalanche of emails, IMs and docs stored all over the place, making it easier to chat, take notes, track tasks and share files in easily organised workspaces.

I've been working on wireframing and creating high fidelity prototypes rougly at the same time, as it was the best desired way for both me and project managers. After shipping the first iteration of the platform, the following one had to:

  • Reduce overall application complexity
  • Improve perceived speed
  • Establish a stronger and simpler global visual style.
